ASHGEM SOFTWARE ________________________________ Puz-Pix Digital Download Installation Guide & New Picture Album Installation Guide ________________________________ (If you are not familiar with this process, it is recommended that you print this Install Guide.) PROGRAM NAME: Puz-Pix LICENCE NUMBER: Before you can install programs from the Internet, you must first download, save and extract them into a temporary folder on your PC. All Ashgem Software programs are Self Extracting ZIP files which carry a '.exe' suffix after the filename. Important Rules: 1) For fast access we recommend that our program start Icons are copied to the desktop.* 2) To guarantee full compliance, programs must be installed into their recommended location. * We are currently not able to provide full technical support for programs installed elsewhere.  Install Guide for 'Puz-Pix' Digital Download. Please Note: Below 'pz' may be used to denote the initials of whichever Puz-Pix program you are using. Puz-Pix = 'pz'. PUZ-PIX PROGRAM FILE DETAILS:   Program Name: Puz-Pix Download Filename: puzpix_r1.exe Filesize: 4.25Mb File Type: Self extracting '.exe' zip DOWNLOADING PROGRAMS:   After payment has been verified (if appropriate), you will be able to Digitally Download your chosen program. 'Click' on the link provided to download the program '.exe' file. From the menu which appears click save and select a folder or drawer to save it into. (This location will only be needed temporarily. SUGGESTION - use 'C:\temp' or just 'C:' but what ever, please remember where you saved it !!!) Find your 'puzpix_r1.exe' download file & Double Click on it, the self extraction process will start it will recommend that you 'Extract' the main program files into the folder 'C:\Ashgem\temp_pz', just click on the 'UNZIP' button. >> You may be asked for an 'un-zip' password at this point. << When finished it will say '# number of files extracted', Click 'OK' then 'close' the 'Winzip Self-Extractor' program. After extraction there will be a file inside 'C:\Ashgem\temp_pz', named 'Setup.exe'.  To install the program from here follow the appropriate instructions below - Windows 95,98,NT,2000,ME & XP Installation (Step by step guide) Please Note: Below 'pz' may be used to denote the initials of whichever Puz-Pix program you are using. Puz-Pix = 'pz'. Method 1: 'Double click' on the 'Setup.exe' inside 'C:\Ashgem\temp_pz' folder and click on 'OK'. The installation process will now start, with an onscreen guide to help and inform you. For further guidance read the 'The Installer Program' at the bottom of the page. Method 2: Click on 'Start' then 'Run'. Use the 'Browse' button to find 'C' Drive. In the Browse window where it says 'Look in' click on the small 'Down' arrow and select (click on) '[C]'. A window will appear, 'double click' on the 'Ashgem' folder, then the 'temp_pz' folder.  The contents of this folder will reveal a program called 'Setup.exe', click on 'Setup.exe' to select it and click on 'Open'. After a moment you will be returned to the 'Run' screen and you should see 'C:\Ashgem\temp_pz\Setup.exe' in the text box. Now click on 'OK'. The installation process will start, with an onscreen guide to help and inform you. For further guidance read the 'The Installer Program' at the bottom of the page. THE INSTALLER PROGRAM: The Recommended Installation Directory path will show 'C:\Ashgem\Games\P...### \', click 'Continue', an ASHGEM SOFTWARE folder group will be created. (Do not alter this file path or we can not guarantee full compliance. All our programs only use a small amount of Hard Drive space - typically from 3Mb to 13Mb.) After the installation is completed a window will appear with the program start-up icon in it. We recommend that you 'Copy' (Not Move) this icon out onto the desktop now - before program use, this will provide easy and fast future access.* Programs can always be started from within the Start Menu ASHGEM SOFTWARE folder group. >> When you first use your software you may be asked to << enter a supplied product Licence Number. WARNING - Our 'Trial' programs are limited to 30 days use - from the date of first use. Re-installation at anytime will prevent the trial program from working! * Copying Program Start Icons to the Desktop. We recommend this for all Business Utility programs as the speedier access provided increases workflow and productivity. Below are two methods - a) During Installation (Recommended) - When the installation process has finished, the program Start Icon will appear in an open window. To copy this onto your desktop either: 'Drag' the icon onto the desktop by pressing the 'Ctrl key' on the keyboard and using the 'Left mouse' button to select and move it. Or 'Left Click' the mouse on the icon to select it, then 'Right Click' on it - and from the menu that appears select 'Copy'. Move your mouse pointer over to a position on the desktop, 'Right Click' once more and select 'Paste'.  b) At a Later Date - Go to the following folder which can be found in 'My Computer' - 'C:\WINDOWS\Start Menu\Programs\Ashgem Software', and copy the required program start icon onto your desktop, using the methods as described in 'a)' above. ________________________________ How to Install New Puz-Pix Picture Album Sets ________________________________ We recommend you print these instruction off Note the name of the Picture Album you have chosen. After you have saved your new album to your computer, find the file. It will be called '{album_name}.exe' which is a self extracting file. (Note: If Puz-Pix is already open, you will need to close it to continue to install each album set.) A small window will appear telling you where it will unzip the file. DO NOT ALTER THIS PATH! Ensure ‘overwrite without prompting’ is ticked, then click on the ‘Unzip’ button. When it is finished it will say ’72 Files unzipped successfully’, click ‘OK’. Then ‘Close’ the self- extracting window. You must now start Puz-Pix to ‘Register’ the new picture album for use with the program. (NOTE: Do this before you extract any more new albums) On the main Puz-Pix window click the ‘Get New Albums’ button, then click the GREEN ‘Register/View....’ button. Your ‘New Album’ will be shown in the left hand blue column and all your existing picture albums will be listed in the right hand white ‘Registered Album’ column. Click the ‘Register’ button. Your new album is now added to the ‘Registered Album’ list and ready for use. ________________________________ If you want more albums, click ‘Get More Albums’ to get more picture albums from the Internet. Or click ‘Return to Puz-Pix’ to test your skill and enjoy the new pictures. If you downloaded more than one album set, you may now safely install the next album as described above using unzip to extract the files. Warning: Do not unzip and extract more than one album set at a time, as only the last set will ‘Register’ properly for use.
